We are fast approaching the climax of the 2015-2016 seasons of the DC Television Universe with only a few episodes of Gotham, Arrow, Lucifer, The Flash, iZombie, Legends of Tomorrow and only one left of the new smash Supergirl. While everyone in fandom has favorite characters from DC Comics, each wing of the DCTVU has a unique feel and a distinct voice. Since being your weekly episodic guide through three shows this season (Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash) I thought it would be fun to try once again to play armchair executive and make some perfect fits for each. d 6When I heard about the new Klarion ongoing from DC Comics I immediately thought of the character’s creator Jack Kirby. I wondered how Kirby’s original characterizations of a mischievous nearly omnipotent teenager who leaned toward the darkest of natures would be translated into modern continuity and how dark and bleak the character might become. Would it kill the elements of fun? I believed it might. However, when I heard Ann Nocenti was writing it I put it on my pull list and was intrigued enough by issue #1 to stay around another month. So after getting the second issue I read it first. What I discovered on a second read through was that this book has a lot of really good things going for it.   Read more...

Ottawa-Comiccon-SliderHey Bleeder Nation! Your king is still having a bit of a "con hangover", a result of an awesome weekend at the nation's capital (well, MY nation's capital, at least), Ottawa ComicCon! It was another great experience, hanging out with creators, cosplayers, and fans of comics, video games and pop culture of all ages! Nothing makes me happier than going to a con, and this one was one of the craziest! In fact, the numbers are in. 38,000 comic loving fans attended the event! Congrats to the organizers for putting the con together and making it a success! Oh, did I mention the interviews?! I got interviews! 4 amazing ones, to be exact! So be sure to keep a look out for those! You won't be disappointed! And as always I took pictures. Tons of pictures of the coolest cosplayers I ran into throughout the weekend. Once again Ottawaians (not sure if that's what they call themselves, but let's go with it) came out in full force and got their geek on! Read more...

young-jj-young-justice-31567443-800-600A lot of fans of the show Young Justice were left perplexed by the 5 year storyline jump between seasons 2 & 3. Well, their questions will be answered later this year with Young Justice Legacy, an Action RPG being developed by Little Orbit based on the (now cancelled) cult TV series. You will be able to create your own teams out of a roster of 12 characters, including Aqualad, Nightwing, Kid Flash, Miss Martian and Superboy, and battle against a slew of DC villains led by Lex Luthor.  Read more...
