Legacy in comics is important. Legacy in all epic fictional sagas is VERY important. Just look at the response of Star Wars: The Force Awakens compared to let’s say...the new Ghostbusters remake so far. Force Awakens was all about continuing the story we all grew up with, at the same time as adding an excellent cast of new and exciting 2nd generation characters that will keep the adventures in a galaxy far, far away going strong. Ghostbusters is a whole new reboot of a story that many feel is a cheap remake of a movie that still to this day holds up for many of us. If they were to make this movie with the all-female cast of new characters that are the daughters or protégées of the original Ghostbusters, well, I bet more fans would enjoy that. Read more...

Well, fellow comic fans...you have failed everyone. Marvel surely hasn’t. Even Nick Spencer hasn’t. But some fans, who likely have not even physically bought a comic book in a decade, have actually ruined everything. A plot twist is just that...a plot twist. It’s fiction, it’s meant to shock, bring out strong feelings in the audience and make their jaws drop, feel dread and try to make them think “well, I need to see what happens next!” But now we have the internet, where everyone that has two fingers to type with has a faceless voice. And some of those people misuse their voice and use it to be totally moronic. Read more...

Sometimes one trailer can make all the difference! With what could be the best look yet at X-Men: Apocalypse, we get to see more of Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), Quicksilver (Evan Peters), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Jubilee (Lana Condor) and well, a certain hairy Canadian mutant! I have been to weddings before, some are great, some are dull, but never...never have I ever expected to be at one where my fellow guests would be Ace Ventura, Dr. Evil, Darth Vader, Wolverine and many other pop culture heroes and villains. Do you remember that feeling you got when Peter Parker married Mary Jane Watson and you saw that cover with Spidey’s friends and enemies in the audience? Well, at the wedding ceremony of Randy and Carol Sauve, the proud organizers of Cornwall, Ontario’s CAPE event...I felt that same happy feeling once again, except I was in the audience as well! It seems to be a huge year for Marvel as they not only will be releasing their comic sequel to their mega event Civil War, but the original comic is also about to be adapted into a live action film in Captain America: Civil War. It is the first of Marvel’s major crossovers to be adapted to film. Read more...

The Marvel Universe is at a crossroads. A new power has emerged, one that can predict the future—for good or ill— and the heroes of the Marvel Universe are faced with a choice: Wield the power of “predictive justice” to change the future as they see fit, or reject it and allow tomorrow to unfold unaltered. Well, NOW are we excited? Those of us in the “geek community” got a huge reveal this week as we FINALLY got a peep at Tom Holland as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man this week! And while there was a bit of the inevitable negativity among some (mostly about the slight changes to Spidey’s classic costume), generally people everywhere are excited for this movie and to see the wall-crawler back home! Previously in the first half of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3: Coulson continued to operate S.H.I.E.L.D. in secret and the team got to tracking down new Inhumans that recently underwent Terrigenisis by consuming fish and fish oil supplements because a substantial amount of Terrigen infected the ecosystem. At the same time, President Ellis instated a publicized agency called the ATCU as a response team to the inhuman “epidemic”, headed by a woman name Rosalind Price. As we learned more about Price and her agency, a new dangerous Inhuman called Lash was discovered to be murdering his own kind. Not trusting Price at first, Coulson eventually felt drawn to Price and the two eventually came to an understanding about how to handle the Inhuman problem, much to the dismay of Daisy “Skye” Johnson...and my own stomach. I was not a fan of the woman. Turns out Lash was none other than Agent May’s ex husband and S.H.I.E.L.D. ally, Andrew Garner. Read more...
