So a few weeks back I made a list of the Greatest Marvel Cartoons Of All Time, and it was so fun and popular I thought I would give it a shot for the other team, DC Comics. And let’s be honest, this is going to be the most difficult list to put together!! Read more...

It has been a glorious start to the second season of Supergirl. With the big bang two-part premiere over and Superman back to Metropolis, it is time to lay the flesh on the skeleton created the previous two weeks. While episode 3 is still clearly setting up the new season it is here, more than the premiere the real seeds for what is to come are sown. Last week, we established the overall theme of this season to be change and the consequences of gaining your own voice and we said goodbye to Cat Grant. This week we delve into a plethora of Easter Eggs, new characters - beloved and well-known - as well as explore the themes and content of Welcome To Earth. Read more...

Welcome back to our weekly journey through the television episodic goodness that is Supergirl which airs on Monday nights. In the offseason Supergirl changed networks, leaving CBS and joining the Arrow-verse on the network’s sister station, CW. Changes often bring turmoil to a series and this season they have added Superman to the premieres further risking the Kara character to receding back into the shadow of her cousin. After watching the first two episodes (the said two-part premiere) I was both thrilled and horrified, warmed with joy and overcome with sadness. This alone would me Supergirl a great viewing experience, but the golden lining of this series isn’t in what they give you up front but their strict adherence to thematic device. Read more...

WolfCop is a small, independent Canadian film that has become a BIG modern cult classic! From the brain of Saskatchewan’s Lowell Dean, this movie made waves back in 2014 for being one of the most original werewolf films in recent memory. While Disney may have seemed to have conquered the box office so far this year, there can be little doubt DC/WB owns the family home video market. With Justice League vs. Teen Titans already released and Killing Joke on the way, there is a current reason to rejoice.  I break it down spoiler free below. I borrowed the synopsis from iMDB, so if you need total spoiler freedom, don’t read it. Read more...

Legacy in comics is important. Legacy in all epic fictional sagas is VERY important. Just look at the response of Star Wars: The Force Awakens compared to let’s say...the new Ghostbusters remake so far. Force Awakens was all about continuing the story we all grew up with, at the same time as adding an excellent cast of new and exciting 2nd generation characters that will keep the adventures in a galaxy far, far away going strong. Ghostbusters is a whole new reboot of a story that many feel is a cheap remake of a movie that still to this day holds up for many of us. If they were to make this movie with the all-female cast of new characters that are the daughters or protégées of the original Ghostbusters, well, I bet more fans would enjoy that. Read more...

Well, fellow comic fans...you have failed everyone. Marvel surely hasn’t. Even Nick Spencer hasn’t. But some fans, who likely have not even physically bought a comic book in a decade, have actually ruined everything. A plot twist is just that...a plot twist. It’s fiction, it’s meant to shock, bring out strong feelings in the audience and make their jaws drop, feel dread and try to make them think “well, I need to see what happens next!” But now we have the internet, where everyone that has two fingers to type with has a faceless voice. And some of those people misuse their voice and use it to be totally moronic. Read more...
