In the Fall 2015, the DC Universe super-heroine Kara Zor-El, the most popular DC character to go by the moniker of Supergirl, was granted her chance to shine as a solo protagonist on the small screen as Supergirl premiered, and although it is only in its first season, it manages to be a huge Nielsen rating victor and many sci-fi fans in the west (even those who are not regular basis comic book readers) seem to can't get enough of the super-heroine herself. In case you never heard of Kara Zor-El, the description of her life story is simply: she is a natural blonde beauty from planet Krypton who possesses the same powers and strength as her cousin Kal-El (also known as "Clark Kent" and "Superman") and seeks to find her place on Earth. By that I mean, in a week off from broadcast our favorite CBS hero has been renewed for a second season causing a collective sigh across fandom and this week on the show the plot advances so fast with so much content it feels like five or six episodes…or part one of a season finale (which this very much is). Oh yeah! It’s that time of year once again! Wrestlemania season! That time of the year when almost everyone (or at least more people that you think) get together and watch the 4 hour extravaganza involving big muscley men and women (and sometimes a zombie or a leprechaun or a voodoo priest) wearing outlandish tight outfits and getting in the ring in front of thousands of people for a fight that’s not really a fight...but still very treacherous nonetheless. There was no new episode for Supergirl this week, and while the sadness lingers from this new joy has arisen. The new promotional art released today for the March 28th Supergirl/Flash crossover is almost the most exciting news surrounding the show. Almost. What thrills the nerves and stimulates the cortex is the announcement that Supergirl is getting a season 2. While we don’t know for sure what the rest of season one holds it is still a fan exercise to create a wish list for next season. Read more...
