Shot 1 for Arrow S3E2In case of some of you missed last week’s episode of Arrow, Sara Lance (also known as “Canary”) made a return to Starling City after her five-month absence, only to meet an unfair fate as she got put to death too soon just as she was just getting back into The Arrow’s crusade against crime and evil. Now, we are looking at the sequel episode “Sara” in this week’s edition of ENR’s Arrow column. In “Sara”, Oliver Queen (also known as “The Arrow”) and company, while dealing with the loss of their comrade and friend Sara, find themselves encountering an Arrow-like supervillain known as “Komodo”. This man targets a number of victims and kills them with the same type of weaponry The Arrow uses: arrows. Read more...

10517342_457790574358980_2896331422953117_oIn the American live-action superhero television series Arrow (which is based on the Green Arrow comic books published by DC Comics), we have seen Oliver Queen on a quest to perfect himself as a hero. The first season showed him as The Hood struggling to prove his worth as a hero to those who tried to help when the police force at Starling City did not trust him. Then season 2 had Oliver as The Arrow, already welcomed as a hero by the town’s civilians, facing a crisis where evil threatens everything he cared about, but he defeated it eventually. Now, as we enter Season 3 of the series, a new chapter of Oliver Queen’s life is about to begin. Anyway, welcome to the first edition of ENR’s Arrow column, and in this edition, we are looking at the season 3 premier episode, titled “The Calm”.   Read more...

2562451-comic_tv_640There was a time when television was filled to the brim with superhero TV shows! From Superman, to Wonder Woman to Incredible Hulk to Batman, and even original superhero TV shows like The Greatest American Hero and the Six Million Dollar Man...it seemed like supers ruled the airwaves. Then...they all went away. For a decade and a half or so it seemed capes were banned from TV (with the exception of a few Superman series spattered here and there). Well, that has definitely changed. With the success of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (or at least the first episode) and the steady ratings of CW’s Arrow, it seems almost EVERY network has at least one superhero show debuting or returning and once again comics are going to rule television. Ottawa-Comiccon-SliderHey Bleeder Nation! Your king is still having a bit of a "con hangover", a result of an awesome weekend at the nation's capital (well, MY nation's capital, at least), Ottawa ComicCon! It was another great experience, hanging out with creators, cosplayers, and fans of comics, video games and pop culture of all ages! Nothing makes me happier than going to a con, and this one was one of the craziest! In fact, the numbers are in. 38,000 comic loving fans attended the event! Congrats to the organizers for putting the con together and making it a success! Oh, did I mention the interviews?! I got interviews! 4 amazing ones, to be exact! So be sure to keep a look out for those! You won't be disappointed! And as always I took pictures. Tons of pictures of the coolest cosplayers I ran into throughout the weekend. Once again Ottawaians (not sure if that's what they call themselves, but let's go with it) came out in full force and got their geek on! Read more...
