If you take the train, bus or carpool on long commutes or prefer to watch your video outside you know how strange mobile binge watching can become. From searching for an all format player to finding your shows and movies in different apps, the satisfaction of mobile binge watching – no matter which device – seems directly related to the amount of interruption the viewer is forced to endure and the ease of access to which any video can be resumed. After three of these reviews on the current season of Flash a few things are becoming clear as I begin the fourth. In CW’s DCTVU (DC Comics Television Universe for those not in the know) congruency is the name of the came for season 2 of the Flash and Season 4 of Arrow. Read more...

Well, the new TV season is on the horizon, and we are all clamoring for new episodes of our favorite comic book adapted shows like Gotham, Arrow, The Flash and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., we even have some new shows joining the mix like Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow! But will this trend of “Cape TV” continue, or will the fickle masses start to get tired of superheroes running prime time? What can we do to spice things up? Well, the one TV trend that seems to still get millions of viewers seems to be REALITY TV! Hmmmmmm, this got me thinking. Read more...

I am sure some of you in Canada had the chance to check out Marvel Universe Live at where it was being presented. Even ENR's very own Dave Michaels (FPB) attended (as many of you would know already from his review on the show). But then it had me thinking, "Why should America be the only nation to make live-action productions based on Marvel Comics' super-hero characters?". I mean back in the 1970s, there was a Turkish Captain America movie (although produced without license from Marvel), even a Japanese live-action Spider-Man television show made by the studio behind the Kamen Rider franchise, but then all the sudden, the trend of non-American Marvel movies seemed to have stopped altogether (sad indeed). We knew The CW had yet another DC Universe spinoff in the worksstarring Caity Lotz (the former Canary now White Canary) and Brandon Routh (The Atom), and it now has a name, Legends of Tomorrow, as well as a debut trailer! Also starring Victor Garber, Robbie Amell (both sides of the "Firestorm coin"), Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Heatwave) and new faces Ciara Renee (Hawkgirl) and Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter). This week, the third season of the American live-action superhero television series Arrow had come to an end, but the series is still far from over. But before I discuss the final two episodes of this season ("This is Your Sword" and "My Name is Oliver Queen"), I thought I present a little recap of what happened in the last two ("The Fallen" and "Al Sa-Him") in case some of you did not get the chance to see them. It went like this: After Ra's Al Ghul assassinated Thea Queen, her half brother Oliver agreed to accept the killer's offer to make him the next head of the League of Assassins so that Thea could be resurrected, except the rest of Team Arrow was unhappy with Oliver's decision. That's right! A familiar cast member from the 1990's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film franchise was spotted on set filming scenes with Megan Fox as April O'Neil, and it's none other than the ORIGINAL April, Judith Hoag! Judith's role in the 2016 sequel is not yet specified, but from the looks of her she definitely means business!  Read more...

A few weeks ago, we have witnessed on Arrow, a tragic event where Oliver Queen's sidekick Roy Harper ended up being sent to jail after lying to the police about him being the Arrow in an effort to spare Oliver from suffering and take opportunity to recover from his unintended act of murder back in the time of the Deathstroke war. Fortunately, Roy's death was faked so that he could be out of jail, only for him to leave his friends at Team Arrow. Then Ra's Al Ghul made his next move to get Oliver to give in to his demand for him to take over as head of the League of Assassins: assassinate his half-sister Thea Queen. Anyway, it has been a couple of weeks since ENR presented to you anything regarding what happened since Roy Harper's departure episode. As a first, I present to you, an Arrow episode double-bill feature as we are nearing the end of season, which makes sense as the episodes shared together a premise. This time, we are looking at "The Fallen" and "Al Sa-Him". Read more...
