Greg Land was probably one of the first mainstream Marvel/DC comic pros that I’ve ever met. Back in the early 2000’s as I journeyed with my buddy and my brother to Chicago for their Wizard World convention, he was one of the first professional artists that I had the courage to go up to and meet. At the time he had gained notoriety for an impressive run on Nightwing (seriously, look that stuff up, it is still my favorite stuff of his career, and when you learn in this interview what he was going through at that time you will have even MORE respect for it) and was just about to jump onto an upstart publisher by the name of CrossGen (way before Marvel bought the company and all of its properties). Fred Grandinetti and David Hudon were bullied throughout their school years. Both suffered verbal and physical abuse. Grandinetti was victimized due to his interest in the arts while Hudon was bullied because of his height.  Cuyle Carvin was, in his own words, a “jock” in high school and played on the football team. Upon graduation from college he chose an acting career. Read more...
I don’t get it. I don’t understand how Tom and Jerry fits so seamlessly into other properties, and yet if you read my review of Spy Quest (a Tom and Jerry meets Jonny Quest adventure) then you would think I wouldn’t be so shocked to see yet another adaptation that shouldn’t work, actually become something special. But I am getting ahead of myself. As the resident direct-to-video reviewer here at ENR I have been singing the praises of the WB animation department for two years now and with each release (whether Scooby-Doo ad WWE or Lego anything) there is always something worth taking away from each of these new features seeking to reinvent the tried and true gold for the modern age. 5 Great Things About Star Trek: Beyond

I don't know what many of you have done so far to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Star Trek franchise, but I am already enjoying my part of the celebration so far. I mean, I read a few issues of the IDW Publishing-published ongoing comic series Star Trek, which recently ended its run. A while ago, I presented to you at ENR, a post on who could play the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 if the original Star Trek T.V. series was to be remade as a Canadian sitcom. And a few weeks ago, I had the chance to see in movie theaters Star Trek Beyond, the thirrd installment of the Nu Star Trek film series, which takes place in Star Trek Universe's the Kelvin timeline. Since 2016 ain't over yet, there is more we can look forward to in celebrating this special year. Read more...
