Well, it’s Valentine’s Day (or Valentine’s week or month for some...why have bounderies?), the time when lovers love and secret admirers let their feelings be known! And single people? Well, I guess they all deal with this day differently! The most important thing, whether you believe in celebrating V-Day or not, is that you appreciate your special someone all year around! And for those of us bleeding hearts that bleed comics as well, we get our #relationshipgoals from our heroes and their perfect/not-so perfect relationships! So, I figured what better way to toot St. Valentine’s horn by firing up the ‘ol Listmaster 5000 machine and do one of my old fashioned lists! This time it’s comics’ Top 10 Power Couples! Some are superheroes with non-superheroes, and some of them are both supers...but all of these sweethearts showed us that their true powers are their love for each other (awwww)! Read more...

Well, fellow comic have failed everyone. Marvel surely hasn’t. Even Nick Spencer hasn’t. But some fans, who likely have not even physically bought a comic book in a decade, have actually ruined everything. A plot twist is just that...a plot twist. It’s fiction, it’s meant to shock, bring out strong feelings in the audience and make their jaws drop, feel dread and try to make them think “well, I need to see what happens next!” But now we have the internet, where everyone that has two fingers to type with has a faceless voice. And some of those people misuse their voice and use it to be totally moronic. Read more...

Well, whether you loved it, hated it or just thought it was okay, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice made its mark at the box office and drew in record numbers worldwide. And it’s confirmed that now Ben Affleck (the guy in the bat-suit, in case you didn’t know) and DC big shot writer Geoff Johns will be writing the screenplay for a solo film starring Affleck’s Batman. But with so many Batman films in the past, what could they possibly do with the caped crusader that already hasn’t been done?! Read more...

Back when I was young and sifting through my older brother’s comic collection, I used to stumble upon this quirky book called Suicide Squad. I’m not even sure I knew what “suicide” even meant at the time, but none of the characters at the time seemed very appealing to me. You had one guy with an all silver mask and a red eye, a guy that dressed like a cast member from Cats, a witch in every sense of the word...pointy hat and all, a weird guy dressed as a flight attendant and then, one character that I immediately recognized: THE PENGUIN! Of course now I know those other characters as Deadshot, Bronze Tiger, Captain Boomerang and Enchantress. Read more...

September 27th was Batman Day, a day where every year generations of fans of the Caped Crusader celebrate the awesome pop culture icon. Just what is it about The Bat that has made him the most popular superhero of all time? Is it the badass costume? The fighting skills? Those “wonderful toys”? Maybe it’s his super intelligence or detective skills? Well, it’s ALL of those things, really. But I think most of all, it’s the relatable nature that the character exudes. Without any real powers, Batman is pretty much a normal person. Read more...

While we at ENR cannot fully confirm it, Latino Review is reporting that Jenna Malone (of Sucker Punch fame) is possibly portraying Commissioner Gordon's daughter, Barbara Gordon in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and possibly more DC Cinematic Universe movies down the line. This does contradict earlier reports that Malone would be possibly playing Carrie Kelly, the female Robin from Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns, which a lot of BvS seems to be based on.  Read more...

Suicide_Squad_Vol_1_1These 8 people will put their lives on the line for our country. One of them won't be coming home!  Sounds ominous , doesn't it?  Those words were written on the cover of February 1987's Suicide Squad # 1! The 1987 version of Suicide Squad took a unique idea a team of super villains undertaking missions for the US Government, that was full of potential. Whereas MOST super teams had someone " behind the scenes ",  The Avengers had Jarvis, and the Outsiders had Dr. Helga Jace  (at least, until the Millenium miniseries). The Suicide Squad had an entire GROUND CREW to give them support.  There were mechanics, a pilot, and a small team of mental health professionals to handle the Squad's functions. The Squad's headquarters was not in a cave , or a satellite 22,300 miles above the Earth . The Squad's base of operations was a PRISON -- Belle Reve. And, unlike other super groups, the Suicide Squad was made up of mostly criminals.   Read more...

Marvel-vs-dc-girlsFor the few years there has been speculation on who would play what hero on the big screen when the movie gets made. When Iron Man was announced there was a fever pitch played out in detail on the web by us geeks. The same thing occurred with the Bat films, Man of Steel caused an internet riot and Superman/ Batman has folks writing the President of the United States to get him to weigh in on their side. I think it is all good fun and have been known to pass on the funnier things I see to my compadres here at ENR. Read more...
