Fantasia International Film Festival To Premiere Valerian, Atomic Blonde And More

For some years now, The Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal has grown to be one of the most well known and popular film festivals around, with many filmmakers debuting their films at the event. last year ENR's own Dave "Bleeder King" Michaels got to chat with Kevin Smith at his Canadian Premiere of Yoga Hosers! This year the fest is bigger than ever with the announcement of some of the most highly anticipated films of the year premiering at the festival!

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets 1Luc Besson's Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets starring Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevigne, Clive Owen and Rihanna will be getting its Quebec premiere at the show as well as Deadpool 2 director David Leitch's Atomic Blonde starring Charlize Theron will be having its Canadian premiere. Doctor Strange's Scott Adkins will also be starring in Savage Dog, which will be getting its North American premiere at the show.

Also at Fantasia we will be treated by the Canadian Premiere of Another WolfCop (check out Dave's interview with the director Lowell Dean HERE), the world premiere of the historical thriller, Mohawk starring WWE's Johnathan "Luke Harper" Huber as well as the Canadian premieres of Bushwick starring Guardians of the Galaxy's Dave Bautista and Brigsby Bear starring SNL's Kyle Mooney. Anime fans will want to know that the new live action film, Death Note: Light Up The New World will be shown for the first time on Canadian screens.

The festival will also be paying tribute by giving Lifetime Achievement awards for WWE Hall of Famer and Legendary luchadore Mil Mascaras, Turkish film icon Cuneyt Arkin and infamous cult director, Larry Cohen. 

All of that and more amazing films from the worlds of Anime, Martial Arts, Sci-Fi and Horror will be presented at the Fantasia Film Festival which will run from July 13th to August 2nd! Don't miss it and be sure to check out these trailers for some of the films mentioned in this column!
