sailor_moon_crystal_act_5_sailor_jupiterThe episode has aired and I could not have been happier. To me, this has been the best episode so far.

That being said, I am also extremely biased in the fact that I LOVE SAILOR JUPITER!

Seriously, growing up I always looked to Sailor Jupiter as a hero or the senshi that I could relate to more. She’s strong, tall, can cook, has brown hair, and is fiercely independent.

Okay, so back to the episode, I hate just straight up recaps or reviews.  Let me explain why I believe this episode is the best.

We FINALLY get to see Jupiter’s attack, flower hurricane.  In the old anime, we never got to see this epic attack and now WE FINALLY GOT TO SEE IT AND I WAS SO HAPPY.

POP-1-CVRPop is a new mini series from Dark Horse Comics written by Curt Pires, art by Jason Copland, and colors by Pete Toms, First issue is called eyes without a face. But what is Pop and why am I writing about it? Pop begs the question or raises it on how the famous people are created. Literally. I think that is a pretty cool concept!

Story is brought to us by Coop, the main lead man, and Elle, the pop culture icon that escaped her creators. Here we get to see the ugly side of entertainment and what the “powers at be” will do to control the population through icons such as musicians and movie stars. Coop was ready to leave this world behind, spoilers, but when he bumps into Elle, half naked and crazed, he takes her home to help her.

From there, we learn a little more about the society that creates our icons and how they keep track.

Not much is really known in the first issue. What we DO know is that people are created and molded to make us love them. When that creation escapes, whatever corporation is in control will do whatever it takes to get them back.

PrincessUgg_LGWhat a surprise comic we have here.

One of my coworkers started ranting and raving about how much he and his daughters loved the new Oni Press comic “Princess Ugg” by Courtney Crumrin’s Ted Naifeh.

What a fun and imaginative twist on princesses!

teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-trailer-newNo.  Just no. Seriously. Please do not go and give money to this movie.  It is so bad. No really. This is pretty much my review.  Fun right?

So let’s talk about the movie.  We all love Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  I mean, what is not to love about wise cracking, weapon wielding mutant beings that are here to help the great people of New York and the world! There have been so many movies, video games, comic books, tv shows and more around the turtles.  It is not like there isnt a good source material to go and create a good movie out of.

Well. It Happened. It really happened and it broke my heart. More so with the awesome new show on Nickelodeon.

Stunning GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Poster Art by Paul ShipperYou may have heard about a little movie that just came out called “Guardians of the Galaxy”.  I’m pretty sure you may have already seen it.  It has made a TON of money in the first few weeks that it has been out AND with good cause! This movie is AMAZING! It has everything that you would want in a great movie. Fantastic colors, stunning effects, great/compatible cast, and well written plot/script.

Let’s talk about how many people really thought that a movie with a talking raccoon and giant tree monster wouldn’t be a great movie.  I hope that they really enjoyed the movie.  Those were the people that I really wanted to love the movie, besides us fans.  And I would love to state, that even though there wasn’t a ton of GotG fans before, since the movie, I know at the local comic shops, sales of the GotG trades and comics have gone up.  Why is that such a bad thing?

At least we have gathered more fans which will mean more movies or more awesome things in the future.
