There has been enough water under the bridge since I bought my very first GI Joe: A Real American Hero comic book to fill at least one ocean. Maybe not that much but enough.
I remember buying it off of the comic book rack at Baker’s Confectionery (a place for all comics and things of fun), and telling my older brother that this book was going to be big. He made fun of me like most Big Brothers do, but I laid down my money anyway and got the comic. The paper was better than what you found in most books and very soon there would be toys, cartoons (future Retro!) and just about anything else a body could want.
I still have that issue, and many more to go with it, but the sad fact is I quit collecting Joe around the late 80′s or early 90′s and couldn’t find a spot to jump back in lately.
Now IDW Publishing has given me that spot with GI Joe Cobra Files #1 and GI Joe #1. Somebody light that candle!
NOTE: I Do SPOILERS!
Hey comics cavaliers hope your week has been going well! Wednesday once again and here we are with another midweek installment of TITLE FIGHT! This week I’m shaking it up a little bit (when aren’t I) and what better way to make things interesting than to have a PRINT vs. DIGITAL duke-out! This week I am taking the best of what both mediums have to offer and letting the chips fall where they may. Valiant’s revival continues with Archer and Armstrong #9 squaring off against newcomer Thrillbent’s digital cape saga INSUFFERABLE #1. Enough chatter, let’s get down to the matter! Kerrrang!

Coming This May from VALIANT!
DAMM | Every year, at any given holiday from Valentine’s Day to President’s Day, we are inundated with theming (yep, I too am as guilty as anyone both here and when I put up my Christmas tree up the day after Halloween) to accompany our festive spirits and give ambiance to the season. However half of this is just dross and by-product lacking any creativity or originality and many of these things actually can jade the holiday mood. Read the rest of this entry »
